After spending several years as web and graphic designer in Columbus, Ohio, Cass moved back to his hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi to join Gibens Creative Group. In 2000 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Art.
Upon graduating from Ole Miss, Cass spent a couple of years in Chicago, Illinois where he managed a local restaurant. He then moved back home to manage IV’s Restaurant. While living back in Tupelo, he kept studying fine art and painting under the tutelage of his Dad, Jack Phipps, a well established local artist.
After a year back home in Tupelo, Cass enrolled at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received his Certificate of Design and Art Direction in 2006. After graduating from Portfolio Center, Cass did freelance work and odd jobs for a few months until he accepted a web design position with Abercrombie & Fitch in Columbus, Ohio.
At Abercrombie, Cass worked on many brands, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie Kids, Hollister, Ruehl, and Gilly Hicks. Cass designed, updated and maintained websites, designed emails, edited lifestyle marketing photography and products for their e-commerce sites.
Cass is incredibly influenced by art, film, music, and literature, as he is an artist, photographer, and musician. These influences are evident both in his personality, as well as his profession as a creative director.View Team
