You Want Me To Spend What?!

Gibens Creative Group

When advertising and web design professionals give a quote to potential clients often the reaction that we get is, "You want me to spend how much?!". Whether they actually say it or just avoid calls and emails until we stop chasing them, the end result is the same. They don't get the help they need to substantially increase their bottom line and we don't get the client.

Bottom line the fault lies with us, the agency. We get caught up in our world of design, web development, and blogs that we forget to explain to them why their business identity and marketing is so important.

We have the best intentions of helping clients present incredible business idea or new products to their target audiences. But we forget that they just want us to take care of our part so they can do the more important things like actually make the business work.

Agencies get so excited about the possibility of landing the client that they forget how to explain what the value is in what they're selling. So let's clear up the misunderstanding.

Why is the number at the bottom of a quote what it is? There's a YouTube video that's circulating through agency circles right now that perfectly illustrates the frustration we feel. But what about what the client feels?

So that's what I'll be blogging about- the real value of marketing, advertising and public relations. Because in the end it will help potential clients understand what advertising, public relations and web design companies do and why it's important to them.
